About Me — Sri Shunyata
Author, Artist, Designer, Speaker, Mystic and Shaman
There are myriads of facets to each of our lives. Some of us spend our time raising a family, going to sporting events, playing golf or on the business of making money. I spend my time creating, learning and probing the far reaches of human experience, the mysteries.
I’m devoted to following that small voice within, to developing the skills needed to express the breadth and depth of my vision; and to ultimately share the secrets that I’ve discovered with you. It would be a crime not to!
If you happen to know me personally, you’d agree that I’ve lived an incredibly rich and varied life. What might not be as obvious is that each branch of my experience and creative passions are not as diverse as they may appear. They are like threads in a single tapestry.
Putting Bio’s in Perspective
Writing up a bio brief is like trying to grab a serpent by the tail, or stuffing a big-foot in a tiny shoe. You either say too much or too little. Then, no matter what you say, you can’t help but to some extent, misrepresent yourself.
Do you realize that every bio that you read or write is misleading? Not because of the posing, primping, and posturing that we’ve come to expect. No, bio’s are misleading because of the flat, lifeless persona entombed in their format.
Even straight from the hip, brutally honest bio’s like this one, are deceptive. Because we’re not two-dimensional cartoon charters or biochemical machines; we are multidimensional beings.
A recap of your professional ventures, educational achievements and the like, doesn’t come close to encompassing who you are. Does it? It would be mercantile and academic at best. How can we wrap up our lives in such tight little boxes? Each phase, milestone, and adventure in your life is a story that’s rich with meaning and many distinct facets of truth.
Naturally, there’s a lot left out of the narrative. Never the less, deception by omission, no matter how innocent, is still deceptive. At this point, I admit that if we knew each other personally, I’d have more to share with you in private.
Don’t get me wrong! I’m not ashamed of anything or have something to hide. Somethings just shouldn’t be broadcasted on a public platform. You know, the kind of things that may have a degree of liability. Look at what happened to Salman Rushdie. He had a multi-million dollar price tag put on his head. Just for penning a fantasy novel that offended the Caliphates.
Now that I’ve come clean with you on that caveat let’s try something new. Let’s take a different track. Instead of covering what I’ve done, let’s get into why I’ve done it!
